SyRF Systems:
The Synergetic Redesigning
of Fitness
SyRF Systems™, The Synergetic Redesigning of Fitness, is an evolutionary health and fitness system that integrates the most ancient science
energy systems from the East with the most recent science and energy systems
from the West.
Why
Synergy? Why Synergetics? As you will read in Section 2 in much greater detail,
synergy and synergetics involves the integration of different ideas and concepts
to produce new, unique, emergent and previously unpredictable effects and
behaviours. By synergizing the most ancient science from the East (acupuncture, chi gong, tai chi, kung
fu) with the most recent science from the West (synergetics, quantum physics,
string theory, M theory, information science and holographic universe theories) SyRF Systems has been able to produce results that
were not available and could not be found by looking at these systems
separately. It is in the integration, the interaction and the
interrelationships of these two seemingly separate and even
seemingly
contradictory paradigms, that we can achieve these evolutionary results.
The synergy
of these two paradigms, these two systems of thought, can transform your
fitness in all of its forms: physical and metaphysical health, appearance,
strength, endurance, focus and the transformation of stress. This SyRF S.Y.S.T.E.M. allows you to See Your Self
Transform Energy and Matter™.
SyRF Systems introduces and employs evolutionary and revolutionary[1] equipment, exercises, techniques,
products, thinking and information.
SyRF Systems has 5 main components that are
symbolized by the 4 vertices of the tetrahedron, the most fundamental,
synergetic system of the Universe, plus YOU at the centre.

1.2.1 As a stand-alone, individual, fitness
workout, this system will appeal to all those individuals who want to get and
stay fit, to lose or maintain their weight or to simply feel better about
themselves. In this area SyRF Systems would appeal to the same people who
buy the Bowflex, or Nordic Track, or Gazelle, or a Treadmill. It will also
appeal
to all people who
take aerobics, yoga, Pilates or spinning classes. However, SyRFing can
be used indoors or outdoors, is completely portable and will do what these other programs cannot.
1.2.2 As
a technique available to schools and teachers to use in their classroom to:
1. Increase focus and attention in their students
2. Transform stress in students and improve performance on tests and
exams
3. Provide an efficient exercise program that can improve fitness in
our youth, especially in school boards where it is recognized that there is
difficulty in providing the optimal daily amount of time for exercise
4. Provide coaches and Phys. Ed teachers with inexpensive training
equipment, strategies and techniques to improve skill development in all high
school and university athletic programs in all and any sports, including
football, hockey, soccer, tennis, squash, golf, skiing, swimming, track and
field.
5. Teach and model behaviour that exemplifies health, fitness and
conscious eating
6. As a model of integrated curriculum development
1.2.3 As a supplement to the number 1 exercise program in the
world, namely walking, SyRF Systems in all or in part can contribute to a
“better” way to walk.
“If you can
walk you can SyRF”TM
“Instead of just walking, go SyRFing”TM
1.2.4 SyRF Systems can complement or
be added to any other form of exercise. It can be done on a treadmill or
Stairmaster machine indoors or outdoors in a park. It can augment and intensify
a jogging, cycling, walking, climbing, hiking or an in-line skating routine. It
can even be used in conjunction with a traditional weight training routine, for
unexpected improvements. Imagine a group of cyclists on a Sunday morning and
instead of just cycling they have on the SyRF Belt and the Quad Packs to make their cycling that
much more effective (See Section 3)
1.2.5 SyRF Systems can be used to help
in the rehabilitation of acute or chronic
injuries for everyone including the elderly and the elite athlete.
1.2.6 As part of employer
benefits to their employees to transform stress at the workplace. Sessions
would be booked at regular times (early morning, lunch, after hours, at the
workplace) for group sessions and personal sessions available by
appointment…covered by the employer.
1.2.7 As a class in gyms and fitness centers, it will add to the growing
menu of offerings that attract new and old members. In a space that is used for
yoga or aerobics classes, SyRFing can be
an important addition to any club.
SyRF Systems accomplishes these results through the
successful and novel utilization and employment of Synergy and whole systems
thinking and General Principles of Universe thinking
that have heretofore been overlooked in the context of health and fitness. The
analogy would be comparable to Einstein discovering one of the general principles of
Universe, namely E=mc2 and then not applying that principle to the
production of nuclear power for electric power generation.
Synergy is one of the eternal,
general principles of the Universe that is usually simplified in the well-known
cliché, “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts”. But there is really
much more to Synergy than that. Synergy states that the behaviour of whole systems
is unpredictable
by considering the behaviour of the parts taken separately. There is also a
corollary that states that if you know the behaviour of the whole and the
behaviour of some of the parts you may be able to discover some of the unknown
parts.
By considering the whole system
rather than the isolated parts we are making a quantum leap from the normal way
of thinking and problem solving that has been our modus operandi for the past
400 years.
This
quantum leap in thinking produces a quantum leap in results.
If the following two paragraphs about
the historical development of physics are too technical, they can be skipped
over…but give them a try.
In the late 1500’s and early
1600’s great scientists and philosophers (at that time the two were synonymous)
such as Galileo, Francis Bacon, Rene Descartes (I think, therefore I am), Sir Isaac Newton and others were creating a major shift in our
understanding of nature and the universe. They were departing from the
Aristotelian paradigm that had dominated for the previous 2000 years and they
were giddy with their success. This paradigm shift that they were creating has
become known as the Cartesian-Newtonian Reductionist World View. It can be
summarized simply as an understanding of the universe as a machine.
In the early 1900’s scientists
such as Einstein, Planck, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrodinger, Pauli and others observed that the invisible
world of the atom did not work like this at all. Quantum physics was
born along with the theory of
Relativity and the most famous equation of all, E=mc2. The obvious
inaccuracy of the Newtonian-Cartesian view became apparent with the most
glaring realization being that, not only can the parts of a system not be taken in isolation, it turns out that
the very existence of the individual parts depends on its relationship with the
other particles! The observer and the observed influence one another. Einstein
showed that one observer might see 2 events as occurring simultaneously while
another observer might see them happening at different times. It all depends on
the motion of the observer.
Enough physics. The point is,
that by employing Synergy and whole
systems thinking we can work in concert with nature. Nature has had billions of years of experimenting,
through trial and error, with different structures and designs through
evolution trying to figure out what works the best in each environment and situation.
By understanding the way nature and the universe really work and by employing
the same principles we can maximize our efforts. We can be more efficient, more
effective, more economic with our time and resources and grow and evolve with
integrity.
[1] Revolutionary,
from the word revolve, to go around, to return to where it was, to go full
circle. When you return to the same path again and see it with new eyes, as for
the first time, this is revolutionary. It doesn’t mean to destroy what is. But
rather keep what is functional (that which works) from the past and adapt to
the new present in a sustainable way. Life is circular, never ending. Subatomic
particles are constantly being created and destroyed and recreated over and
over again. Yin-Yang.: the Alpha and the Omega. Life is revolutionary. Evolutionary,
from the word evolve or to change, to adapt, to make adjustments to produce a
form that is both functional and sustainable. Life is constantly changing and
adapting. Life is evolutionary. Both evolutionary and revolutionary are
characteristics of organic systems and thus are subsets of synergy.
